The most popular modern use of the Old Testament prophets is for "predicting” the end of time before Jesus comes again. In contrast, the early church used the prophets to prophesy of the Messiah’s first coming. There is another good use of the prophets which has been neglected: an ethical relevance to modern society. The prophets had a message concerning the political, international, and social problems of the prophets’ contemporaries. That message is still relevant for similar problems today.
