Members of the
Lord's church often do not understand the importance of the restoration of New
Testament Christianity in America. We hear "Restoration Movement" and
tend not to pursue the topic any further. We experience dismay or frustration
when someone calls us a Campbellite, yet many of us don't really understand
what the term supposedly means. Or maybe our familiarity begins and ends with
Alexander Campbell.
Restoration: History in the Making aims to
educate the reader with studies of many of the restoration preachers (Barton W.
Stone, Walter Scott, Benjamin Franklin and others). Various Bible prophets are
discussed as restorers in their day (Micah, Haggai, etc.) More recent leaders
in restoration efforts such as N. B. Hardeman, David Lipscomb, and Marshall
Keeble are included. The book also covers topics today's Christians needs to
restore in their own hearts such as love, joy, peace, goodness, patience, etc.
