In producing the English Study Bible, Harold
Littrell’s stated goal was to produce a translation that was easy to read yet
faithfully rendered God’s Word. He viewed the original manuscripts as being
verbally inspired, given by the Spirit and he endeavored to translate without any
denominational bias that so often exists in Bible translations today.
Because of his death, his Old Testament edition was unfinished. However, the publisher has taken his notes, as they were, and given us The Pentateuch. In reading this volume one will find that some verses have been omitted and even an entire chapter has been left out of his translation. The publisher's effort was to offer this volume without editing or modifying his work in any way. The intention was to offer it with footnotes exactly as he had recorded it in his handwritten notes.
